In the Evil Mountains

Yesterday we took a hike up into the Evil Mountains situated to the east of Urumqi. I don't know who gave them their name, but they are anything but evil. These mountains are a delightful break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The air is fresh, the views are spectacular, and the solitude is blissful! I suppose the only reason they got their name is because they do lack an abundance of trees. But, hey, so do most of the mountains in Nevada. So it made us feel a little bit like we were at home.
